About the Job: We are seeking a Senior Backend Engineer to support a US-based e-Commerce platform in developing and maintaining Ruby on Rails-based backend services and integrations. The ideal candidate should possess 5-7 years of experience in engineering or a related field.
Responsibilities: - Complete project assignments within specified timelines. - Support the entire software development life cycle. - Adaptability in a fast-paced startup environment. - Participate in risk assessments and mitigation. - Analyze and troubleshoot application issues. - Collaborate with QA for test case development. - Maintain and upgrade existing software. - Participate in technical audits and implement recommendations. - Create practical technical solutions aligned with business needs. - Provide technical standards and guidance in software design and development.

Key Skills: - Proficient in Ruby on Rails. - Sound judgment in selecting gems, dependencies, and data stores. - Strong grasp of web-app performance fundamentals and related dev tools. - Solid database fundamentals and SQL experience. - Experience with Stripe and Shopify APIs. - Practice Test-Driven Development (TDD). - Proficient in debugging complex problems. - NICE TO HAVE: Experience with Shopify, React (16.8+), and GraphQL is a plus.
